Surfing Mecca & Culinary Delight

Our retreat will hosted in a traditional Basque château, overlooking the Pyrenees in Bidart.  Bidart is a small village on the French Basque Coast, surrounded by fields, farms and a plethora of surf beaches only 10-15 minutes away.

Dreamy French Country House from 1870

Finished with traditional tiles and stone interiors. There are 7 bedrooms, a kitchen, large lounge and dining area all spread out between 2 floors. There’s a heated indoor pool on the ground floor, a tennis court, and an outdoor area for lounging in the sun.

Historic Surfing Capital of Europe

The French Basque coastline has a potpourri of surf breaks up its sleeve. The variety of waves and wave quality means there’s usually something happening for all types and levels of rider.

Yoga

Yoga is an important element of your retreat.  We will offer a week of blissful yoga that nurtures the mind and body to open and restore the muscles and energy after a day of surfing. Our practices are designed to illuminate acceptance and gratitude for the moment and offer invitations to absorb mind-body-soul nourishment through grounding, opening, and restorative flows.

This week was everything I expected and so much more. There was enough structure to keep us busy and learning, as well as planned downtime for relaxing and reflecting. The staff was patient and encouraging. The whole retreat radiates with ‘Aloha Spirit’. I’m coming back!
